At its regularly scheduled meeting on April 23, 2025, the North Fork Kings Groundwater Sustainability Agency (NFKGSA) Board of Directors formally approved the budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year. As part of the budget adoption, the Board also approved an assessment of $10 per acre for landowners within the agency’s jurisdiction. This increase in assessment was discussed and planned through the Proposition 218 process.

The adopted budget outlines strategic investments to advance the North Fork Kings GSA’s groundwater sustainability goals. Notable allocations include:

• $500,000 dedicated to water purchases aimed at enhancing groundwater recharge and availability for the benefit of all landowners. 
• $1 million allocated for program and project development, supporting ongoing and new initiatives that align with the Groundwater Sustainability Plan.
• $750,000 designated for Domestic Well Mitigation, ensuring support for residents impacted by declining groundwater levels. 

These budgetary decisions reflect the agency’s continued commitment to long-term groundwater management, resource protection, and community resilience.
