The North Fork Kings GSA continues to invest in tools and resources that improve groundwater management, data collection, and long-term sustainability planning.
Ditch Tender Interface
The GSA recently completed development of its Ditch Tender Interface (DTI), which is now being utilized by several surface water agencies. The interface allows ditch tenders to record turnout activity and water deliveries in real time, improving efficiency, reducing reporting delays, and providing more accurate water accounting throughout the basin.
Daily ET Data
To further strengthen groundwater management efforts, North Fork has also expanded its use of LandIQ data products, including a contract for daily data services. This enhanced information will provide more timely insights into crop conditions, land use, and water management trends across the GSA. More information to come on how landowners can access this tool in the future.
Groundwater Model
The GSA submitted a WaterSMART Grant application to support development of a groundwater model. A robust groundwater model is a critical planning tool that helps forecast future conditions and will support informed decision-making for the groundwater allocation.
These investments reflect the GSA’s commitment to utilizing the best available science, technology, and data to support sustainable groundwater management and provide value to landowners throughout the basin.
